Insurance Authorization Specialist Responsibilities

Verify patient eligibility with third party payers such as Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance and perform all insurance procedures to ensure program has accurate information.Obtain the necessary authorizations for managed care insurance cases and any other insurance requiring same.Monitor and track Outpatient Treatment Reports by maintaining/running the OTR report to ensure completion in a timely frame. Enter client lab codes and client precertification information into the IMA system

Insurance Authorization Specialist Education Requirements

  • HS diploma/GED required, Medical Billing Certificate a plus.

Other Requirements

  • 6 years of full time experience working in an office setting with 5 years full time experience with medical billing including management of third party insurance and managed care authorizations.Knowledge of CPT/ICD9 coding

Schedule

  • P/T 15 hours per week3 days per week 5 hours per day, 2 of which will include evening
