Allina Commons is the Minneapolis-based headquarters of Allina Hospitals & Clinics, a not-for-profit health care organization serving patients and communities. Approximately 1,600 corporate and administrative service employees work at offices within Midtown Exchange, site of the historic Sears retail complex at Chicago Avenue and E. Lake Street. Insurance Specialist Responsibilities
- Verify benefits and policy eligibility
- Insurance Specialist Obtain benefit and insurance information for patients receiving emergency medical services to ensure accurate one time billing
- Accurate coordination of benefits
- Documentation of work activity on the financial system; accurate, complete patient demographic, and insurance information
- Secure and monitor all necessary signatures as needed for claims submission
Insurance Specialist Candidate Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Insurance Specialist have 3yrs experience and in-depth knowledge of third party reimbursement, insurance benefits, and EMS services and charges
- 2yrs of customer service training and experience (preferably in the medical or a related field)
- 2-3yrs claims submissions experience
Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Insurance Specialist Ability to organize and prioritize
- Ability to work independently under pressure
Insurance Specialist Salary, Benefits, & Work Schedule
- Fulltime: 40hrs/wk
- Day Shift: 7am-3:30pm
- No weekends
- Non Contract
