Underwriting Assistant Job Details identify improvement opportunities - communicate effectively with underwriting team

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under limited supervision, Underwriting Assistant by performing various service responsibilities

Underwriting Assistant including, but not limited to, the following:

  • meet deadlines and service level agreements
  • Underwriting Assistant review information for completeness and accuracy
  • request additional information required to handle an account
  • perform necessary system transactions
  • meet productivity and quality goals/expectations
  • Underwriting Assistant work independently to make sound business decisions
  • identify improvement opportunities
  • communicate effectively with underwriting team

DESIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Excellent PC Skills – knowledge of Excel and Word
  • 3 – 5 years Insurance Experience
  • Successful completion of a college level curriculum or the equivalent related business experienceis desired
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Organized, focused, and has a structured system to meet deadlines
  • Resourceful, able to see things through to resolution
  • Strong Math skills
  • Self-starter & ability to work in a fast paced team environment
  • Understanding of basic Insurance terminology
  • Dependable
